Report: Norway halts sale of engine maker to Transmashholding
MURMANSK, Mar 23 (PRIME) -- Norway has suspended the sale of plant Bergen Engines, an engine producer for Rolls-Royce, to Russian railway equipment producer Transmashholding for national security reasons, Justice Minister Monica Maland said on Tuesday, as cited by E24.
The official said that since Norway does not have security cooperation with Russia, the deal must be cancelled. Transmashholding said in February that it agreed to purchase the plant from Rolls-Royce Group.
The plant comprises metal processing and assembly facilities, a precision casting line, a repair line, an design bureau and service centers in seven countries.
